Dear ATLAS Connect users,

There will be a downtime of ATLAS connect on Thursday, June 1, 2017 starting at 9:00 AM CDT. We will reserve the whole day for maintenance.

 

During this time, all login nodes will be rebooted for system updates. Any interactive or ‘screen’ sessions will be killed. Any running jobs will be held during the downtime.

 

The purpose of this downtime is to restructure the user and group provisioning backend used by all Connect instances. The following changes will be implemented:

• SSH key-based authentication will be the only supported login method. If you have not added your SSH key to the Globus portal, please do so ASAP.
  • Instructions for adding SSH keys are available here: http://bit.ly/2pGOcYY
• We have resolved an issue regarding UID/GID collisions that affected a small number of users.

• Top-level home directory permissions have been made consistent. Home directories are now globally readable.
• All group names have dropped the preceding ‘@’ symbol. Group ID numbers have not changed.
• All Stash project directories have had the preceding ‘@’ symbol removed.
