Dear All,
    Below please find the minutes for the IR Design meeting held on February 2, 2018.
    Greetings,
        Bill

    Minutes from the IR Design mtg held on 2/2/18
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
* As usual, we start the meeting with a discussion of the agenda, which we agree is:
    - "Final pCDR" Tables
    - Simulation update
    - Vacuum update
    -AOB

* We start with the simulation update, as some people were late to the mtg
    - Alexander is still waiting on the "Final pCDR" tables of magnet and beam parameter for the two beams (electron & hadron)
    - Until these are available simulations are in a holding pattern.

* Vacuum update. File Charles_fig_2_18_18.pdf
    - Charles shows the figure that he'd sent to Bill today, showing his synchrotron fans
    - What's shown is for 18 GeV electrons
    - Need to look at lower beam energies
    - Charles is using the software package "Synrad"
    - In discussion on what Alexei may be able to get started on regarding impedance calculations, Charles will send him what is available now, which is the bellows configuration/geometry.

* "Final pCDR" Tables
    - Guillaume informs us that he has done the final match to the ring, as discussed last week, and sent the final hadron pCDR table to Bob.
    - Bob will do one more check, and report on the hadron "final pCDR" table next Thursday (2/8/18).
    - Steve reports that the electron 10 GeV "final pCDR" table is almost done. There is a crab cavity issue that still has to be resolved.
    - Discussion of what to do about an electron beam table for 18 GeV. Decision is to just scale the 10 GeV table until some point (post pCDR?) in the future.
    - Guillaume asks that we settle on a terminology so that people don't get confused by the term "Final table". Bill suggests (and has used in these minutes) the term "Final pCDR" table. Will stay with this terminology unless objections are raised.

* AOB
    - Elke asks who is writing the IR Design text for the pCDR, and if any of it is available for viewing
        - Bob is responsible for this text. Elke asks to please see this text when available.
        - Once the "Final pCDR" tables are available Elke and Alexander will perform some simulations for inclusion in the pCDR.
    - Elke brings up costing
        - There was a meeting in the morning to discuss IR costing for the vacuum, etc.
        - Will meet with Mike Mapes and Charles in an effort to avoid double work taking place.
    - Discussion of getting together enough of a model for the vacuum pipe so that Alexei can get started on the impedance calculations
        - Bob and Charles will get together and check their synchrotron fan numbers/results
        - Ferdi emphasizes that we need to push to get some number for the impedance
    - Elke inquires about the latest B0 magnet geometry
        - Holger is working on it, and will provide an update to Elke and Alexander
    - Elke asks if there is a clear definition of where the IR geometry ends along the beam lines
        - I believe the agreement/answer was that the IR geometry extends out until the locations of the Crab cavities

    - Draft agenda for the next meeting, two week from now, on 2/16/18:
        - Show "Final pCDR" electron and hadron tables
        - Simulation update
        - Vacuum update
        - Impedance update
        - AOB
                    End of meeting
