Dear All,
Below please find the minutes from our eRHIC IR Design meeting that was held on Friday, 6/8/2018. Please note that our next meeting will be on Friday June 22, at 3 pm.
    Greetings,
        Bill

Minutes from the eRHIC IR Design meeting held on 6/8/18

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* We started with a brief discussion of the agenda for the meeting.

* Walk through the Slides that Bob P. had sent to the list prior to the mtg: File- 1806-postpre-v3.pdf
    - Slide #1
        - Some changes in going from a crossing angle of 22 to 25 mr. Shorter Quad. length, etc.
        - Shows that X/Y chromaticity gets reduced.
        - Also frees up some space for the warm to cold transition.
    - Slide #2
        - Shows beam envelope on the downstream side.
    - Slide #3
        - Show the rear side Beta function.
    - Slide #4
        - Shows the rear side proton aperture
    - Slide #5
        - Electron rear side Beta ftn
    - Slide #6
    - Electron rear side aperture
    - Slide #7
        - Table of Magnet parameters
    - Slide #8
        - Summary comments
    - Slides 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
        - Option "B"
        - Largest Beta, Chrom X goes, down, Chrom Y goes up.
    - Elke points out that Alexei needs info to simulate the expected impedance.
    - Bob will send Elke info. for a few missing magnets.
    - Elke acknowledged getting a paragraph of text from Bob.
    - She needs new Figures from Bob.
    - Elke needs the High Acceptance Optics from Guillaume for the old (pCDR) setup. "Normal files".
    - Elke also needs a simple function for the Crab cavities.
        - Vadim will provide a i-dimensional function for the C.C. to Elke, which describes the effect of the C.C. on the beam.

* We walk through Brett's Slides, sent to the list prior to the mtg. File - RearQuadFirstPass25mrad_08jun2018v2.pptx
    - Slide #1
        - rear side of the Q1APR and Q1ER magnets
        - With B-field correlation between the magnets. The cross talk decreases to about 0.
    - Slide #2
        - Shows the field in the coil of about 3T. Regular direct wind is OK.
    - Slide #4
        - Would be simpler if last Quad on incoming proton beam is split into two magnets.
    - Conclusion: The increased crossing angle (going from 22 to 25 mr) has made the magnet designs easier, as expected.
    - Need to see if it fits in the existing tunnel!

* We next walk through Alexander's Slides, sent to the list prior to the mtg. File - ayk-2018-06-08-bnl-ir-meeting.pptx
    - Slide #2
        - Overall status
    - Slide #3
        - Front side layout
    - Slide #4
        - Front side layout
    - Slide #5
        - Acceptances
    - General discussion about the simulations

* Next Meeting
    - Friday June 22nd, starting at 3 pm
    - Draft Agenda:
        - Alexei on an impedance update
    - Doug  on how the IR design fits in the tunnel
    - Simulation update from Alexander
    - Bob's setup for the forward side.
                                End of meeting.
