Bill,

* Summary of recent EIC IR working group meeting by Alexander:
- A virtual organization
- A mailing list of many people
- Goal is to organize a group to work together
- 3 Sub groups
- IR Design
- Polarimetery
- Luminosity
- 1st meeting on February 15th
- Focused on luminosity monitors
- Talks by Elke, mirror talk by JLab, Angelika, and Bill Smidtke planned.

I should have been more precise. What happened last week was the EIC User Group (EICUG) Steering Committee meeting. The EICUG is indeed a virtual organization, but it has 800+ registered members (EIC proponents)
from all over the world and a well-defined management structure. Just recently the working groups (WGs) started to shape up. The three first
WGs are: Software, Polarimetry & IR. The latter includes Luminosity
Monitoring, and this is where we are going to start with. What will happen
on Feb,15 is the first "inaugural" meeting of the IR WG (similar meetings
of Software WG and Polarimetry WG already happend last Fall). It is perhaps worth to mention that the IR WG has four conveners: C.Hyde (ODU),
V.Morozov (JLAB), C.Montag & AK (BNL).

Cheers,
Alexander.
