Greetings,

I am asked to give a talk on "Electron Ion Collider Machine Detector Interface " at the NAPAC'19 Conference in Lansing Michigan the first week of September (see URL: https://www.frib.msu.edu/events/2019/napac19/invited-speakers.html ). In this talk I am supposed to cover MDI issues for both the BNL and JLAB proposals.

I have just started to prepare this paper and have uploaded a dummy first page (pdf format) to this week's meeting folder. Originally my intention was to keep the author list simple (especially as I have to pull this paper together before the nominal upload deadline) and thank my sources in an acknowledgement section; however, in conversation with Andrei Seryi he argued that we should have a somewhat expanded author list as evidence how BNL and JLAB are collaborating closely on the EIC design. His own machine overview talk has a massive author list.

So to this end I have included folks Andrei suggested to me from JLAB and other institutions and added to that some names that came to my mind. This first draft of this author list is included in the dummy first page I uploaded.

As for the content of the presentation/paper, I am planning to build upon the presentation I made last April to the 8th Workshop of the  APS Topical Group on Hadronic Physics (GHP) ( https://www.jlab.org/indico/event/282/ ) in Denver. For reference I have also uploaded that talk into today's meeting folder.

At I minimum I would hope today that we can formulate a "final" author list so that I can contact the relevant parties after today's meeting and if we have time I could quickly go over the April presentation to get your feedback and suggestions.

It is important to note that due to my travel schedule, being away August 21-28th, I am looking to get the paper and presentation into near final form by the end of next week.

Thank you for your attention, Brett
