Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Ecce-eic-public-l] ECCE: Abstract for DIS 2022

Hi all,

I was asked by the physics team conveners to submit an abstract for HF and jets studies to DIS 2022 (https://indico.cern.ch/event/1072533/). Please find the draft abstract below and feel to comment. Any suggestions and comments are welcome.

Cheers,

Hadronization and Saturation with ECCE

Future nuclear physics will focus on the internal structure of the nucleons, which requires an Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) with high luminosity, and high-energy electron and ion beams. The heavy flavor and jets produced at EIC will be the key measurements to provide information on the hadronization process within nuclear matter, gluon saturation, and the origin of mass. To achieve these physics goals, the ECCE proto collaboration proposed an EIC detector with the use of the existing Babar magnet of a 1.4T magnet field. The performance of the physics-driven detector design has been studied with a series of extensive simulations. This presentation will introduce the ECCE detector design, detail the simulation results of heavy flavor and jet analyses which demonstrate the capability of the ECCE detector.
