Hi all,

The "regular" eic nodes will be turned off soon in favor of Alma9 nodes eicsub01 and 02. 

- If people still use the packages with

setenv EIC_LEVEL EIC2022a

source /cvmfs/eic.opensciencegrid.org/gcc-8.3/MCEG/releases/etc/eic_cshrc.csh

please let me know. I will need to rebuild it all for Alma. 

- If there's a need for more interactive nodes, like the original 12 we had (and paid for), SDCC/SCDF needs to be approached, I'm not sure who the right liaison is nowadays. Maybe through the mattermost channel above?

For a while now we've been announcing imminent shutdown of remaining SL7 (scientific linux 7) interactive/submit nodes for the shared pool,
(other than systems dedicated to STAR and PHENIX which will remain available through the RHIC run),  Monday, November 3, at 12noon EST, via:   

• https://chat.sdcc.bnl.gov/bnl/channels/sdcc---alma9-shared-pool
• login motd
• and most recently with twice daily "wall" mesg's broadcast to all logged in users on affected nodes

complete with pointers to the A9 (Almalinux 9) replacements for each system, which have been available for quite some time:
