Thank you for your quick responses. In that case, I have no worries about the negative reception of the naming. Let's stick with nHCal, as this is easy to pronounce and understand.

My few cents - I've been using "nHCal" since I joined the project, which is admittedly just a few weeks. I'd prefer to keep it. It can be pronounced smoothly ("en-aitch-cal"), while "eeHCal" ("eeh-eeh-aitch-cal") is kind of a stumbler. "bHCal" is still too close to the barrel HCal (or may even be identical for case-insensitive circumstances, like some string searches). 

I don't think "negative" sounds negative in the colloquial sense. We're all particle physicists at the end of the day. 

Lastly - to be most consistent, the barrel HCal should change their name. In this way, we could keep the "b" for "backward", as opposed to the "F" in "HECAL" and "FHCAL".

Yes, I like it too and I've been using it. However, the "negative" doesn't sound good for publicity even though it just means negative rapidity.

BHCAl - barrel HCal

BHCAL - backward HCAL

We need to fix it by tomorrow. In order to avoid this I suggest the following:

eeHCAL - "electron endcap HCAL" (the best selection)

nHCal - "negative HCal" - negative doesn't sound good

bHCal - "backward HCal" - backward doesn't sound good either

Tomorrow (the deadline), I will suggest "eeHCAL" to Silvia, but please let me know if you have other ideas or suggestions.
