Hi Subhadip

Can you remind me what pi+n means in the legend on slides 4 and 6 mean? Is it a sum of the 2 separate distributions or something else? Black is barely visible, can you improve it?

Do the percentages mean percentage of clusters or percentage of eg. neutrons or pions? The latter will be basically our reconstruction efficiency.

Slide 7? Do those percentages > 100 % mean that a cluster was split and contains only fraction of energy of hits? If you are counting energy of hits based on the highest energy contribution, this may overestimate the energy. Our reference should be hit contributions - if we add them together, the sum will correspond to the true energy deposit of a given particle. Another version of the reference may be hit contributions passing digitization criteria.

You can add definitions of the quantities you show in the plots. Could you also zoom in on the distributions in the plots on slides 3-4 to show them better?

Hello Leszek,

I have uploaded my slides to the indico agenda of the last DSC meeting.

And to answer your question, I am checking the highest hit contribution associated with a recoHit only to tag the hit as pion/neutron hit of the cluster.  After that, I add those tagged recoHit energies to get the pion/neutron energy percentage of the cluster energy.

With Regards,
Subhadip

Hi Subhadip

I still don't see your slides. Could you upload them? We can't prepare a presentation for tomorrow without your slides included.

Best regards, Leszek

Dear Colleagues

Thank you for your updates. Subhadip, could you upload your current slides? Later please also upload the corrected version. We need that to prepare for an update at the calorimetry meeting.

Looks like clusters are well separated, but the efficiencies are different for pions and neutrons. The overlap starts at 30-40 cm distance. We also need to check how the energy is calculated, it seems that sometimes the energy of hit contributions is slightly above 100% of the cluster energy. Btw. are you checking only the hit constributions associated to recoHits included in the cluster? How do you scale them by the sampling fraction? Maybe there is a small difference there?

Dear Colleagues

We decided to shift the DSC meeting to 0930h starting Friday this week.

The plan is to have updates on your progress. As I wrote before, the clustering got fixed and we can investigate the 2-particle position resolution as well as material effects on clustering.

Best regards, Leszek
