Dear Colleagues

Here's a work in progress version of the detailed nHCal geometry implemented using LFHCAL. You can access it here:

I removed some of the modules that overlapped with collar, so it's smaller than LFHCAL. We can think about adding extra 4M (4 tile) modules in a few places (also in the center). I think, it may be good to check with project mechanical engineers on what exactly they implemented. For now, we still plan to use a simplified version to optimize the geometry, but will switch to this one once decided.

This is a reminder for our meeting today at 2pm EST.

 

Pre-TDR Assignments:

  • Sam: neutron efficiency
  • Tianhao: Simulation vs. CMS data, impact of tile uniformity
  • Maria: intro/overview of design optimization
  • UIUC: Updates to muon ID and muon plots
  • Leszek: updates to sampling fraction and geometry description. Update into plots to include neutrons / muons and mean energy for the tail catcher region
  • CTU (Sasha/alexander/Subadip): Upate plots similar to DAC presentation to show the position resolution (5x5, 10x10, 15x15) and the Delta Rxy distribution.
  • Yevhenia: nHCAL performance evaluation and tests

 

I have a version of the pre-TDR with only the nHCAL that we can use to draft before pushing our updates to the official epic pre-TDR document:
