Dear eMC members,

The draft version of the new Membership Policy (v2.1), available here, was presented at last week's CC meeting.

Overall, the presentation was well received. The two main comments on the draft were:

The CC would like the requirement that new institutions demonstrate a minimum of 2 PhD-equivalent effort to be removed. However, at today's meeting, Thomas mentioned there should be a minimum of 1 PhD. To be clarified...
The CC would like the title "Activity Coordinator" to be revised.

We will review the updated draft of the policy document and prepare the final 2025 State of the Spokesperson (SoS) Report at the next eMC meeting on June 17 at 9:00 AM ET.
