List for the 2014 Hot QCD White Paper Writing Group

Dear Colleagues:

I had hoped to send out a major announcement today (October 1st), but for 
various reasons that is not possible, so please allow me to send this 
placeholder instead.

The task we face is an important one, but I hope each of you views it as the 
pleasant opportunity to summarize the recent achievements in our field, 
phrased in a way that conveys the fundamental importance of the questions we 
seek to answer. I very much appreciate your willingness to participate in 
this process, and look forward to working with you over the next two months.

In constructing the framing document for the QCD Town Meeting, each of you 
participated in a ‘topical group’ on some particular aspect(s) of our field. 
I am inclined to keep these same assignments for the various sections of the 
White Paper, but that inclination is only by way of minimizing the entropy. 
Should you wish to change assignments, please let me know as soon as 
possible. In addition, if you feel some major aspect of our field was 
overlooked in drafting that framing document, please feel free to communicate 
it to the list.
