Hi all,
Srini and Chris are not in favor of people working at CERN as of yet. They've approved Alexei part time because of poor internet at home but that's it for now. Srini's position which I am not going to dispute (neither is Michael for Omega)...
I am getting many requests from BNL people to go to CERN and work from
their offices. Unless there is a good reason to do so, I am not letting
this move forward. People who would like to go in must justify their
reasons to go to CERN.
Chris and I are strongly discouraging anyone in all of U.S. ATLAS from
going to work in their offices as CERN begins to ramp up and allow
access to essential personnel. ... Software and physics analysis can be done from the
comfort of their homes and I recommend that all BNL staff continue
working from home until further notice. We need to get a feel of how the
ramp up goes before we start to approve non-essential personnel.
