My role as deputy should be helpful to our ePIC/EIC efforts (that's why I took it at least :-)

Dear ePIC Collaborators:

 

We are very pleased to nominate two of the new coordination teams for ePIC:

 

Software and Computing Coordinator (SCC)

• Markus Diefenthaler (JLab, SCC)

• Wouter Deconinck (U. of Manitoba, Deputy SCC for Operations)

• Sylvester Joosten (ANL, Deputy SCC for Framework)

• Torre Wenaus (BNL, Deputy SCC for Infrastructure)

 

Analysis Co-Coordinators

• Rosi Reed (Lehigh Univ.)

• Salvatore Fazio (Univ. Calabria)

 

Of course, the Software and Computing Coordinator and Analysis Co-Coordinators, along with the management plan, will require confirmation by the Collaboration Council. A meeting of the Collaboration Council was just called by the CC Chair for Friday, March 24^th.  We are continuing to talk with candidates for the Technical Coordinator position and hope to make an announcement of the TC nomination to the collaboration soon, certainly prior to the CC meeting.

 

March will be a very busy month for ePIC!  We have the two GD/I internal reviews for the barrel electromagnetic calorimetry and backwards PID, as well as software tutorials and preparation for the second simulation campaign underway along with all the steady progress being made in the Working Groups, all while we undergo a transition to a new collaboration structure.  We greatly appreciate everyone’s hard work, dedication, and patience as we move ePIC forward!
