Hi all,
I had a "What happened here?!" question from a group member so I'll make a few comments. The announcement with its circulation to all of physics makes it very public, a good and appropriate thing, but please don't disseminate my comments further. The departures one after another of excellent senior people from SDCC has been one of a number of reasons why there's been a growing recognition that a change in management at SDCC is important for the lab. We can be grateful to Alexei for agreeing to take on the challenging role of SDCC interim director, and to the management at the lab at all levels for recognizing the importance of the change. I look forward to a strengthening of collaborations with SDCC within the lab, including of course NPPS, and beyond the lab, and I hope the change stabilizes and ultimately strengthens the essential workforce and expertise within SDCC.
