This is the BNL FY27 LDRD Call for Type B Proposals with three (3) attachments.  For NPP proposals, the internal review process will be coordinated through the Office of the NPP ALD to develop, pre-review, and provide feedback before preparation of full proposals. A schedule for internal NPP process prior to the final submission to the laboratory is provided below with the goal of putting forward highly competitive proposals. Also attached is the template for the NPP proposal pre-review presentation.  Please take the time to read these items and familiarize yourself with the requirements of this FY27 call for LDRD Type B proposals.

 

A few things to note:

•           This is a call for Type B proposals only.

•           Please take note of the criteria provided in the call to calibrate your work to the scope, duration, and funding limits. Cap on annual funding is $250k.

•           The PIQ form has been revised, make sure you use the one provided.

•           All proposals should be vetted within your department prior to pre-review.

•           Proposals that involve cross-directorate work should be identified, and a decision be made as to which directorate will submit the proposal. Proposals to be submitted in other directorates with NPP staff participation should still be pre-reviewed in NPP.

 

Schedule:

By December 19 COB - Inform NPP about your intent to submit LDRD Type B proposal. Send E-mail to Christine Immel with the proposal title, list of PI(s) and a brief abstract.

January 9 - Meetings to review pre-proposals based on completed templates (template attached).

January 15 - Feedback to PIs about what proposals are selected to develop full proposals.

February 4 - Full proposal presentations by PIs. Template of the presentations to be provided. This step is to help PIs to further improve their proposals.

February 9 COB - All LDRD PIQ proposals, complete with BOM and Department Chair signatures to be uploaded to a designated Indico web page.

February 11 - Final review and signature by ALD.

February 13 COB – Christine Immel submits NPP proposals to the laboratory.
