FYI, With Shuwei's help, I'm now able to use the OTP authentication without a phone for both SDCC and CERN MFA. That's a big convenience, given how many times I forgot my phone either at home or in the office. For the BNL Duo push,

For the BNL Duo push, I didn't find any alternative, so I asked ITDhelp. I was told the only available method is to use Yubikey. They configured the hardware for me and it's free for BNL employees (It's a little bit misleading on the web page which says it charges $30ish from project account)
Best,
Zhaoyu

An alternative for anyone like me that lives in the command line:
$ pass otp com/github/me/totp | xclip
*paste*
Ingredients:
