Number 3 comes directly out of our work at BNL in ATLAS and with CSI, Kerstin asked us to add it recently. Although I hear it has since been vetoed by other CCE authorities.

I am generally supportive of the proposal.  I commented on the google
doc and replied to the email thread that Kirby may wish to include
adding HDF5 support to Wire-Cell Toolkit (for support of Machine
Learning training on HPC) as part of his project #1.  This is something
I intend to provide myself but would be happy if someone else did it.
Kirby was receptive to the idea.

Meifeng pointed out that proposed project #2 is complimentary to the CCE
work CSI is already doing on evaluating Wire-Cell Toolkit for porting to
HPC/GPU.
