FYI below. Good call by the reviewers that AI/ML is a weakness here, amid our A+ strengths!  I'll draft something and circulate, any advance input is welcome. Michael I have your AI/ML TDAQ slides giving input to the FOA, if you have other helpful material could you send it to me? Is there something summarizing ML use in ATLAS analysis at BNL? And I have Brett's LDRD. Elke produced the attached EIC oriented slide deck in October, is there more since then Elke? We just made a HEP-CCE funded hire via Stony Brook of someone to work on bridging ML services and ML analysis applications, so can include that. Together with the PanDA work on ML services and leveraging ML for automation and operational intelligence, and some words on potential application to sPHENIX TPC calibration, is there more? Any plans for AI/ML in sPHENIX streaming DAQ? The latest (to my knowledge) attempt to restart formulating a lab vision is a blank

Will have more than one slide's worth but I would like to produce the official single slide plus supplementals that summarize where we're at. Officially it seems the AI/ML point is directed solely at HEP but I'm in the HEP/NP synergy business so won't ignore NP.

Hi Andrei and Torre,

For the item 1 on the googledoc, can you each start to draft the slide (one for QIS and one for AI/ML), as Dmitri requested?   We can iterate it later in the week.  I need to present that at the meeting next Monday within NPP, and eventually it will be used for discussion at ALD meetings.

                Thanks a lot.

                Hong.

Hong, Jammie, Eric, Wolfram, Cathy,

As we discussed yesterday t 4pm meeting we would like each of you to present one slide presentations about NP and HEP comments in the annual PEMP report and our planned actions. The comments and one sentence actions plan and responsible individuals are summarized (thanks for your edits!) here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1p7bhmP5jok9N8bZTxa5Wznzr2VsWZ41AT2e4qJHn8SU/edit

The lab is asking all directorates to present such responses/plans and we already had Policy Council meeting today going over support organizations, science organizations will be next.

On one slide, please, provide:

  1. DOE comment as written
  2. Very brief history/status
  3. Name of the responsible to address person(s)
  4. Action plan with approximate timeline

Photos/plots/visuals are fine on the same slide. We will reserve 5x5 minutes presentations at the next Monday 4pm meeting for you.

Thanks, Dmitri.
