In order to ensure that we conduct highly effective and legal interviews, all hiring managers are strongly recommended to complete this course prior to being involved with any recruitment activities. If you are planning to conduct committee-based interviews, it is your responsibility as the hiring manager to assure that all committee members are aware of their responsibilities as they relate to conducting legal and effective interviews. You will be asked to log in to access the information. It is Brookhaven’s goal to form interview committees that are diverse. If you need assistance in identifying diverse candidates for your interview committee, please let us know. Once your interview committee is determined, please send me the names of the members who will be part of the interview process.
Please send us your proposed interview questions for review prior to any interviews being arranged. We will review your questions and potentially make some suggestions for improvements/changes. Should you require assistance preparing interview questions that will elicit the type of information you need to make an informed hiring decision, we can supply you with many suggestions/examples.
Please be prepared to provide me with your interview notes (and the notes of your committee members) after the process has been completed. Interview notes include any written documentation that your team used to evaluate each interviewed applicant. We will retain the notes by electronically attaching to the job file.
