Hi Jason,
Excellent! A great initiative and we'll be happy to participate and help in any way, thank you for the invite. You are welcome to add us and we'll be happy to provide a letter if asked.

Dear Torre and Scott,
I am working with Marjorie and Heather on a large proposal in response to the FOA Traineeships in Computational High Energy Physics (https://science.osti.gov/grants/FOAs/-/media/grants/pdf/foas/2022/SC_FOA_0002743.pdf). Our proposal will provide training and fellowships for graduate students who can work with people at DOE national labs on computational projects.
Marjorie and Heather suggested I contact you to see if you would be interested in participating. The topical areas include collaborative software infrastructure (including maintainable software environments, memory management, and coordination of distribution computing environments) and high-performance software and algorithms (including software for parallel programming and software making use of distributed computational accelerators). Naturally we thought of you.
I am attaching a brief description of the proposed program. If this sounds interesting to you, we would like to add you to our list of lab contacts and potential project contacts. We would also have to see if a letter of support from BNL is needed (or even allowed).
Sincerely,
Jason Nielsen
