Hi all,
--
I raised with Richard Dubois our Rubin effort level in FY24, which originally was supposed to go down to 1.0 FTEs from 1.5, which now seems premature. Richard agrees… (I also raised the issue of who supports Postgres since Fermilab is backing away)
I’m proposing we extend the 1.5 FTE by two years – through FY25 and warn we may need to extend past that, given survey will really just have started in late FY25.
Indeed, we have to work around Fermilab’s dba contribution – we’re planning to look for a full time DBA. They didn’t want to increase past 0.25 FTE, nor really be operational dba’s (ie monitoring performance etc)…
…so as we work out the effort planning for next year, it’ll be on the basis of sustaining at least for FY24 and potentially longer our current overall Rubin effort level. How that translates individually we have to work out over the next month or two. Anyway, it’s good news, a credit to the great work you guys are doing with the support of the whole PanDA team. Lots of work remaining to do and they support a sustained role for us in the middle of it.
Comments and questions welcome!
