Thanks much to Chris for attending the physics group leaders meeting, notes below. (I don't think I've ever heard of 'strategic LDRD' as distinct from the ABCs)

Nothing of interest from the council meeting, it was almost all tenure stuff.

Hi Torre,

not very exciting meeting.

most PD's have been approved, (there are still some new ones (4?) in the
pipeline). Postdocs cannot be funded through PD (that seemed new), that
needs to go via a strategic LDRD (which has always been around but not
too many knew about that one). Instructions are written up

Early carrer award applicants - internal BNL review/guidance doesn't
seem to be sufficient/needs improvement

Sally brought up if/how attendance will be checked with new telework
policy (nobody knows), remote work agreements - waiting for what BNL
admin comes up with (but it's clear that CERN is not affected - they are
"stationed", not remote)

discussion about export controls - BNL just dumped more work on us,
Thomas/Elke went on about having to explain what a GEM or SiPM is to yet
another set of non experts.

AI - we have a policy (somewhere on the web), itd is looking into some
licensing (MS office, not github).

Appraisal reviews are due today
