*** Jordan, UPC feasibility studies ***

- Extended discussion about various triggering possibilities

—Streaming readout means all events could be recorded, the backend has support for recording a large number of events

———Note that we don’t have a firm plan for what percentage of the total cross-section can or will be recorded by streaming

—Can add a software trigger after the fact

—No ZDC-based veto yet, but may be studied in the future

—Also need an EMCal-based trigger (streaming readout helps this)

- Absence of PID possible problem but also possible opportunity

—Can’t do pi/K/p dE/dx in TPC but might be able to get some electron ID, plans to study this

—Potential opportunity to study other decay channels of J/psi (though note that pi+pi- decay BR is ~1e-4)

- Note: all studies on this poster are generator level, not full sPHENIX G4 simulations

*** Brennan, sEPD software update ***

- The geometry is implemented in both the reconstruction code and the G4 simulation code

- The geometry in simulation is auto-generated from the geometry in the simulation code, so any changes to the geometry for the reconstruction code can be easily generated for the simulations as well

- Hits code in progress; next presentation TBD
