Hi all,

The notes from yesterday's meegin are at https://indico.bnl.gov/event/8976/attachments/29539/45984/notes.txt and bellow.

As usual, comments and corrections are welcome.

Update on HIJING production

Slide 5: on the augmentation of the cluster size in HIJING vs single particles.

Q: Did you put a cut on the particle's momentum ?

A: no

C: you should consider to remove low momentum particles and in particular delta rays that may generate very large clusters.

A: will do. Definitely needs more investigation. Note that there is a cut in the code on the maximum size of the single particle clusters (need to look up the value), so the large tails must come from overlaps. (hence the exponential decay)

Slide 7:

Comment on measured occupancy (~15%): it is high but not unmanageable. Occupancy in the inner layer of the TPC is significantly larger. In the outer layers it is still of the order ~10%. It does however require elaborated clustering, to detect multiple peaks and disentangle merged clusters.

AOB:

Updates on the integration part

- Takao and Aiwu in contact with Saclay on setting up Micromegas+DAQ chain. Discussion on having this setup at Saclay, or Stonybrook, or BNL.

- Klaus asks whether there are drawings of the Micromegas tiles in order to start looking at integration, mounting on the TPC, etc. There are (see figures shown during past presentations from Maxence, or sPHENIX collaboration meeting). Should contact Saclay folks to get e.g. the CAD files, and precise dimensions.
