Hi Justin:

And no, we didn't yet decide on the new meeting time yet or even discuss it...other than me saying that Megan and my plan is to first schedule the next meeting as a "special planning meeting" which may not be held at a regular time (old or new) and then shoot to start in the new TBD regular time starting the meeting after that one.

Concerning this, I hope all relevant faculty know their teaching scheduled fro the fall (for the next year?), and we can schedule a single time for the meeting that works around those teaching times. I appreciate that the previous bi-modal meeting times attempted to accommodate as many as possible, but it’s really hard to explain your availability to someone given such a structure.

but stay tuned I haven't really had a chance to look at the poll yet or the exact schedules of the AUM.

Also, as this point I can’t remember if the poll requested availability into the fall or just the summer...

Best regards,

Bill

Hi Bill, and all,

We did end up having a meeting though as expected very much impromptu subject matter. I expect the special meeting will probably not happen next week with the PHENIX Collab mtg & RHIC AUM going on so probably the week after, but stay tuned I haven't really had a chance to look at the poll yet or the exact schedules of the AUM.

I also wanted say a couple other things about the meeting for anyone interested:  we went briefly through an initial set of  tasks given in my talk (which is posted), but that was more to elicit people to send me anything that they think is missing there.   We will describe those tasks all in more detail and we plan to give a little more background generally on many subjects surrounding them at the next special meeting, like that of the radiation damage sipm noise which I did give a brief introduction of yesterday too, just because we had a few extra minutes and a few people were especially interested in it--but e.g. I will go over the essential points on that again for sure next mtg.

The other thing is, it DID appear that the meeting was recorded automatically (it gave the warning to everyone when they entered the meeting) but Chris emailed that he did not see the video afterwards,  but he did find one from a long time ago that we didn't think had successfully been recorded.   So I think it's possible that it may have just been still "processing" (which in my experience takes a while when I make local zoom recordings) , so I think it's still possible the recording MAY be available at some point, anyway we were going to try to make that available only if anyone was interested--fyi.

Hi Justin:

I indeed did miss this announcement and therefore missed the meeting when I got out of the 2-4 pm committee meeting I was chairing. It looks like the meeting actually took place - did you discuss a stable meeting time for the summer?

Best regards,

Bill

Hi all,

Apologies, I mistakenly thought the PHENIX Summer school was going to be all day today and so wasn't planning on having the Calo Calibrations Meeting and for some other minor reasons that have pretty much disappeared...so I made an agenda and will call in at our usual time of 4pm today, if anyone wants to meet up and discuss anything we can.  Depending on who shows we could have a "pre-discussion" to our next meeting which will probably be our big discussion Megan had announced and I think we are still waiting to schedule...since I made a list of important todos for Takao's sphenix summer school talk last week some of you will have seen I could discuss a few details about that and see what feedback anyone has...

However I understand this is very last minute so anything we discuss like that will be revisited in detail the future.    I will also take steps to try to record it today again, although I can't be certain we will be able to get the proper permissions in place and/or people present for that...

Hi all,

Between all the events this week and next (collab mtgs/AUM/etc) we will have a Thursday Calo Calibrations meeting tomorrow.  I will update on the things I presented at the S&C review (things went basically how I predicted and after the digitization fix the tower slope results basically started returning perfect recovery within what is probably statistical precision) and maybe a little beyond.  It would be really cool to maybe hear a little from Tim Rinn/UIUC/Emcal folks a little about the KPP discussion/plots we discussed at the last Friday emcal mtg , anything new on the Pulse extraction, or of course any updates anyone has on any subject, cosmics, etc.!

I also wanted to mention, Megan and I are planning a soon planning session, maybe a non-standard time, she will be sending a poll around to plan that soon, so be on the look out for that.
