From my homework today, GEM resistance spark rate vs ZDC rate during the collision rate scan [https://chat.sdcc.bnl.gov/sphenix/pl/fy7tr7kixfgu8pgstzmk87rjoo ]

 

Outer GEMs do observe higher spark rate, though the rates do not seem to scale with GEM area. There seems to be little collision rate dependence for the GEM resistance spark rate at 4.1kV. Note that this direct ZDC rate dependence study is suggesting different ZDC rate dependency when compared with the earlier attempt during the review when data are sourced from 4.35kV, various HV Ops points and RHIC configurations [https://indico.bnl.gov/event/23321/#2-tpc-operation-with-beam]
