Dear Cold QCD-ers,
As you may be aware, sPHENIX Mock Data Challenge (MDC) is being planned for the next 2-3 months, to check the computing infrastructure and analysis frameworks in the conditions close to the real data taking which will start in two years. For details see Camelia's presentation last Friday https://indico.bnl.gov/event/9953/contributions/43014/attachments/31157/49137/sgmGeneral_20201030_status.pdf
From the analysis development perspectives, we may benefit of it. Although the current plan is to simulate 10M of MB HIJINGĀ events, there will be an opportunity to request pp or pA mass simulation for particular topics of interest for the Cold QCD program. We suggest we think about it and define:
1. Any particular topics which would benefit from such a centralized full scale simulation
2. Type of events (e.g. pp, pA), kin. filters and the number of events to simulate
3. Output data format/content (e.g. tracks EMCal clusters, vertex, etc)
4. People to work on topics defined in item 1.
Please let us know if you have any suggestions/thoughts on these.
Thanks!
Christine and Sasha.
