If you have timed your talk and find that you are running long, you might cut some of the first several “sPHENIX overview and status” slides. Your talk is in a topical workshop and the broader status will be covered by our plenary talk on Thursday
(which you could even reference on your own slides).
Several of the Figures look a bit blurry - particularly the first image on slide 4 and both “versions" of slide 11. Can you step through and try to improve the quality?
slide 8: to better illustrate the dramatic improvement in this measurement with sPHENIX, can you take the data points on the first slide 8 and super-impose them on the second version of slide 8? Then it is much easier to see than by switching
back and forth. You could also do a similar thing for slide 9, although there the final states are different (HF electron vs. reconstructed D).
slide 9: do you want to say something about why it will be interesting to measure both D0 vs D0bar separately, or will it be obvious to the ColdQCD crowd?
second version of slide 11: similarly, it would be nice to have some context for how impactful this measurement would be. is there a “latest and greatest” version of this observable to show how much smaller our projected uncertainties are? and
what is the physics benefit of measuring vs. rapidity within our range? (and where did these plots come from…)
slides 13-14: There was a nice study by Sebastian Tapia and John Lajoie on projections for Energy-Energy Correlators (EECs) in p+A jets in sPHENIX: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/15500/contributions/63589/attachments/41083/68843/sphenix%20flash%20talk%20tapia-lajoie.pdf .
You could show one of these projections, which I think we have also shown at DIS, as an example of another specific measurement sensitive to the parton->hadron transition that we’ve been thinking about.
