Dear Matt,

Thanks for preparing this poster for the IS conference.

I also took a look at it as well and ended up writing down a few suggestions.

I wonder whether the sentence "Unpolarized pp and pA collisions will provide information on nuclear modification and hadronization.” (and similar one in the conclusions) will be interpreted as us spending part of our time running without polarization - which is not the plan. I think the point is that one can study this “unpolarized” physics (nuclear modification, hadronization, etc.) by being agnostic about the polarization, i.e. averaging over the spin pattern.

“Collins mechanism, correlates” -> “Collins mechanism, which correlates”

Please remove the phrase "before shutting down in 2025”. Although what you describe is the nominal plan, sPHENIX will be ready to extend its data-taking program in the case that this is helpful to the plans of BNL / DOE, and so we do not want to tie ourselves down in print like this.

I agree with you about the text being too much. My thinking here is that Initial Stages seems to be heavily centered around heavy ion physics, so I did not want to be too sparse with the text, otherwise I fear many will not understand what they are looking at. I did try to strike a better balance between the two in the updated poster.

I had left out the Collins and IFF (transversity related) measurements because there were no projections in the BUR. I have added a short bullet about the Collins mechanism.

Please have a look at the updated version and let me know if you have any other comments/suggestions.

Hi Matt,

I am sorry, looking at your poster draft got a little delayed. In 
general, I think this is a very nice poster that covers most of the 
planned cQCD measurements very well, maybe with the exception of the 
transversity related topics, but that is of course just my personal 
bias. I also generally would be a little more concise in the text as 
most people likely won't stand there and really read all the sentences, 
but that is of course your preference.
