Dear spin crews,

 Thank you very much for offline analysers who have already looked into data. We are slowly improving and understanding the detector response, but still there are many aspects we don't understand. Please see the attached slides which summarize where we are. I appreciate your further study and feedback. I will work on the optimization of the operation conditions.

Here is the 1st attempted data taking of SMD's after ZDC optimization. Although we are not 100% sure if the timing of the ADC unit is really correct, I want you to look into data. The Run#40652, ZDCNS coincidence trigger only : 400 ~ 480Hz. Please post raw histograms of ADC distributions in log scale (online monitor is in linear scale and hard to see real signal), paddle hit distribution with ADC value weighted entries, etc. We also need to evaluate the pedestal of each paddles and set the thresholds before reconstruct x, y positions. The present x,y position distributions seem weird shape. See attached slide for more details.

There are bunch of requests to off site analysis crews. Please pursue the data analysis on Run#20652 and modify the online monitor.
