Dear all,
As we discussed in the last cold-QCD meeting, I am updating the situation in 1008. The TPC is performing well so far and is planning to be taking physics data in the big partition after the maintenance day this Wednesday with still further more firmware upgrade to make zero suppression fully functioning. We just executed 2nd Vernier scan this afternoon at the current ZDC position (+2cm to the outer), since we had difficulty to recover GL1 errors in the 1st Vernier scan data. Data is to be processed right away, and Cheng-Wei will check if the data is not collapsed. Once he confirms the data is healthy, then it is likely we will move the ZDC this Wednesday maintenance day.
Jamie explicitly stated "No plans to turn back to high lumi, zero crossing data taking" in the shift change meeting minutes today. So the optimal position of the ZDC would be +1.5mrad position. We'll move the ZDC to +1.5mrad position tomorrow maintenance day unless there is strong objection.
Best regards,
-itaru
