Dear all,

we need to get going with the planning for the sPHENIX timing system and
how we are going to implement it. We should discuss the various
possibilities, such as re-using the GTMs/MTM, building something
completely new, or making modern-day GTM replacements...

Eric has kindly agreed to devote the next-after-next Wednesday
electronics meeting to this topic,

Wednesday, Oct. 4, 1:30pm

Joe Mead and John Kuczewski have agreed to attend, and we hope to also
see/hear the relevant folks from the MVTX orbit.

We should use the time in between to hash out some plans and how they
would work, how we string the various subsystems together, etc etc, so
we can make rapid progress at the meeting.

I'll talk to some of you to prepare some material ahead of time.
