Hello,

I read through the EMCal section and made small wording changes directly.  In addition, here are some comments on things I didn’t just want to change (or didn’t know how to change).  Lline numbers refer to this version 0.992.:
- 2664:  jet energy -> photon energy (the tower size should not matter as much for measuring jets)
- 2674-2679:  delete (the same thing is explained in more detail in the subsequent paragraph)
- 2689 ff.:  does this need a new subsection heading like “pCDR design”?  Currently it’s under ‘design requirements’, but in fact it describes the implemented design.
- 2696:  the text in [] looks like it’s supposed to be a citation, but the citation isn’t implemented
- 2749:  THP citation not implemented
- Fig. 5.9:  text in figure: it’s not clear why the # of PE increases switching from the PMT to SIPMs.
- Fig 10:  text in figure:  :297 ch / (18.7 ch / upixel) - 16 upixels per cosmic trigger” unclear (what are upixels?)
- 2845:  sentence misses verb
- Fig. 5.17:  what do the different colors of the particle tracks represent?
The structure is only the fibers?  Then why are there different colors?
- Fig. 5.18:  What kind of event is this?  There is no description.  It looks like a bunch of single particles emitted from nominal zero in a single event in a single longitudinal plane.
- 2923:  I don’t get what is meant by ‘the shower concentrate to lower radius region”
- 2942:  this subsection needs at least some description of the observations from Figs. 5.25 and 5.26 (there is a comment that these figures will be update) and a conclusion from that.
- 3008:  cc:  non standard units; is this cm^3?
Regards,
Stefan

Hello,

Thanks to everyone for the many comments, corrections, additions,
clarifications to the pCDR.

If you are just starting to read it now,  I put the latest build of the
document in the same place as version 0.992:

https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=1483

Also, as a preview of what to expect from reviewers, Irina has put
together a database of comments from previous reviews and web site to
see them in one place:

https://www.phenix.bnl.gov/~irina/sPHENIX/allcomments.php

(use the sphenix, babar1008 username and password).  As we complete the
document in the next few days and prepare for the review, it would be
good for the authors to examine their consciences about how well we have
responded to previous recommendations.
