On Monday, with a lot of effort from GSU, ISU, WSU, CU, BNL, and the ever-helpful test beam folks, we got the EMCAL moved downstream into its final position in front of the HCAL. There are many pictures at the end of the album:

The move took longer than I expected, because we had to do a substantial amount of rearrangement of cables, and we took our time to do it carefully and had our ORC re-review on Tuesday morning. We passed that with no problems, and resumed operation with the beam Tuesday morning. We checked that things look pretty much the same downstream as they did upstream, so we decided to take the first slug of energy scan data of all three calorimeters in their final configuration. Abhisek and the whole crew here took energy scan data last night from 12 to 40 GeV so if we're hit by a meteor we have data with the whole detector.

So the things on my list of things to do are:

- do a nose-down calibration of the emcal in this position (this will be somewhat more laborious, since it will require 8 accesses, but I think we should confirm that the EMCAL is stable (I'll need guidance from Sean and Craig to do this)

- take HCAL data with EMCAL out of the way

- do a first pass on the tilemapper (that's going on now)

- we'll want to do another EMCAL energy scan, presumably after the calibration run

After we've seen some analysis results from these data, we will probably have to decide how to iterate this.

In general, we're in good shape--we have the early data we wanted to get, and we have two weeks to complete iterations on the data taking and analysis.
