Hi Craig,

Since we can’t quantify the leakage before Tuesday, perhaps we should leave both plots uncorrected for the nominal energy being off at all energies and I can say that we see similar differences in the PbGl and the EMCal.  Since the EMCal is also 18X0, shouldn’t the leakage be the same in both calorimeters?

Best,
Anne

Hi Virginia,
It looks like the corrections improved things at lower energies, but we have to watch out for another effect at high energies, which is leakage. The PbGl is ~ 18 Xo so there will be some leakage at the higher energies. This is presumably why the correction factors for the last few points are smaller. We therefore probably shouldn't try and correct the nominal energies using the PbGl above about 8 GeV or so unless we somehow correct the PbGl for leakage first. However, correcting for leakage in either the PbGl or our own calorimeter is something we may or may not want to do in the paper. We can also just quote our results without making a leakage correction, which would show up in our linearity plot. However, either way, I don't think we should correct the nominal energies using the PbGl at higher energies without correcting the PbGl for leakage.

Cheers,
Craig

Hello all,

In yesterday's meeting we discussed looking at the ratio of the measured to input energy for the Pb glass.  I have added that to the Pb glass plot.  In addition to this I've adjusted the input energy used for the EMCal resolution and linearity plots based on the Pb glass data.  Attached are slides detailing this and showing the adjusted resolution and linearity plots.

Best,
Virginia

Hello all,

Attached are the latest versions of the EMCal plots for the test beam paper.  I've also included the linearity and resolution plots for the UIUC and THP data separately, though I believe we've decided the combined plots are best for the paper.  Comments are appreciated.

Best,
Virginia
