Hi All,

I came across an interesting lightguide paper that fits well with our recent
discussions. It's a 1993 SSC paper written by David Hertzog and co at
Illinois (apparently not the first time lightguides on SCIFI calorimeters
have been studied at UIUC). The paper shows a few different things:

- it confirms the angular distribution profile I've been using for light
exiting the fibers
- it studies efficiency/uniformity for a series of different Winston cone
designs (including short Winston cones)
- it studies lightguides wrapped vs unwrapped with reflector (including
differential wrapping to correct for asymmetries)

I'm away from UIUC for the next month and it's going to hard to make much
progress on simulation studies, but I may be able to find a little time to
build a few of these Winston cone geometries into my Geant simulations.

Anyway, in the meantime, please take a look:

Cheers,

Mike
