John-

Without your leadership and hard work, this would not have been possible. Enjoy the holidays with your family, see in you at FNAL in a few weeks.

I have a sleigh to catch tomorrow, but I thought I'd send around some
information on the calorimeters for the beam test.

The Inner and Outer HCAL are basically ready, and have seen cosmics and
LED's over a the last few weeks. Sean fired up last year's version of
the EMCAL, and we saw LED's in all the channels, and the new EMCAL for
this year is making good progress. We still expect to get the beam as
originally scheduled (apparatus shipped Jan 10, delivered to Fermilab
Jan 12, and moving into the enclosure Jan 18) with the repair to the
beamline expected to be completed by the weekend before installation.

I started putting documentation for this year's detectors in the Wiki:

and I updated my Google album of pictures; scroll down to the end of the
album of photos of the calorimeters to see the latest state:

Thanks to everyone for their work in building these calorimeters, but
especially to the technicians and engineers who have once again done a
thoroughly professional job designing and building these
detectors--Steve Boose and Richie Ruggiero, Sean and Rob, Mike and Bill
Lenz, Frank and Sal, Chris P. and Carter, as well as Eric Thorsland at UIUC.

Happy holidays to all.
