Joe, great work and thanks. I do not think you have problems with tower-to-tower calibration. Most likely you simply need to account for leakage from the back. I think 1d calorimeter has tower depth constant with rapidity while 2d is variable.

Please find attached some more simulations studies of the single particle photons and e+/-. These simulations are still single particles but with the z_vertex spread out over +/- 10 cm. It shows that the position dependent correction works well as this 'data' set is completely independent from the previous one.

I also simulated the "perfect" EMCal tower again with Jin's suggestion to turn the light guide efficiency to 100%. This is included in the presentation with an updated plot of the EMCal resolutions.
