Edward,
That's fine, but I think we also need a talk on the sPHENIX calorimeters (presumably one combined EMCAL/HCAL talk, but we could in principle think about having two separate talks), in which I would presume we would want to show some preliminary results from our beam test.

Craig, I am planning to submit talk on large area scintillating tile

objections the abstract can be submitted any time soon.

Dear All,
The abstract deadline for CALOR 2018 is rapidly approaching and we should
start to think about submitting one or more abstracts to this conference.
It's the main conference on calorimetry in particle physics (which includes
us....) and we should definitely have a showing there. Here's the conference
link: http://calor2018.uoregon.edu/

We should have some preliminary results from the current test beam run at
Fermilab by the time of the conference, and while we will obviously need to
be careful what we say about the results by then, we should be able to have
something to show. The problem is that the conference dates overlap
completely with our CD-1 review, so whoever goes will have to be someone who
doesn't have to be at the review. I should also mention that during the
Director's Review, Jay Marx said he was expecting us to show some results
from the test beam at the CD-1 Review, so we do have some motivation to have
some results by that time. And oh, by the way, no pressure there...

Cheers,
Craig
