Hi Mason,
Very interesting results. Let's discuss them at our EMCAL meeting this Friday. Cheers, Craig On 10/4/2021 6:22 PM, Mason Housenga wrote: Dear all,
It's Mason from the UIUC sPHENIX team. Attached are some
slides that I made while looking into odd single pixel gap
behavior in sector 17 (across multiple runs).
The synopsis is that we see distinctly different single
pixel gaps between IBs 0-2 vs IBs 3-5 in sector 17. Taking a
look at the fits, we see that this is likely due to higher
noise levels in IBs 0-2, which the fitting algorithm struggles
with.
We plan to investigate if we see similar behavior in other
sectors. If the fits do not accurately represent the data, we
may also look into developing a fitting algorithm that
better handles higher noise levels like those we see in sector
17 IBs 0-2.
