Craig,

Thanks so much for hosting the celebration this afternoon!

As you mentioned it's been like 11 years or so of R&D in the making along
with the Fermilab beam tests and culminating with the amazing work by UIUC
and our EmCal Factory crew here at BNL.

Now we just need to install it and hook up all those wires 😉

Best,

Friday, April 8th, 11:30 am in the Physics High Bay

Dear All,
This week we expect to reach a momentous milestone in the sPHENIX EMCAL
project in that we will complete the assembly of the last EMCAL sector
(Sector 64). The EMCAL project started over 10 years ago with its original
idea and conceptual design and the construction of the first EMCAL sector
(Sector 0) started in 2019. We've now completed all 64 additional sectors for
the final detector so this is certainly cause for celebration.

In lieu of our regular EMCAL meeting this week, we would like to invite
everyone who has worked on the EMCAL to come join us for a group photo this
Friday, April 8th at 11:30 am in the High Bay in Physics.
There will also be lunch for everyone who joins us which we hope to have just
outside the High Bay weather permitting, or at some other location inside the
Physics Building. Please come join us and help celebrate the efforts of
everyone who helped make this a great success.

Cheers,
Craig
