- Subject: [Sphenix-emcal-l] Bias Supplies

Just a quick up date on the failed Bias supplies. I was on the phone with the US engineers. In 3 of the supplies that had a single channel that failed, it was traced down to failed DC-DC converter on the LV sub-assembly. They have replaced the LF modules and are running QA tests on them now, with an expectation that they will ship in the next 7-10 days. The failed components are being sent back to the manufacturer to understand the root cause of the failure. The fourth module that has an anomalous current reading with a fixed static DC load is still being investigated.
Once I get the repaired modules back I will run my standard tests (failed modules passed them the first time) and do some extended 2-3 day burn in test that was not done in the past. I think there are 1-2 modules in the EMCal/HCal system that have problems and I would like to swap those out in Oct for testing and repair so we have a set of spares for the 2024 run. I will coordinate that with the EMCal/HCal/sEPD experts.
