Dear All,

Here the minutes from the commissioning part of the meeting (also on indico):

Best regards,
Stefan

Minutes Calorimeter Commissioning meeting, 2023-12-18
———————————————————————————————————————
Test results of RMS of the HCal boards from pedestal runs—JaeBeom Park (see slides)
- study from mid November
- RMS from non-pedestal subtracted data larger than from pedestal-subtracted samples
  - ==> pedestal correlation between samples
- voltages on refers to both LV and bias
- results will be used for zero suppression
- similar study for EMCal planned for new year once SiPM cooling back on
- then results will also feed into simulation
- Eric requests current monitoring to be on, i.e. db logging (current drop observed since September) (ACTION ITEM)

Problematic EMCal bias channels—Eric
———————————————————————————
- plan to replace some problematic EMCal bias channels
- should be done before EMCal pedestal study

HCal Cosmics data taking (discussion during calibration part of meeting)
————————————————————————————————————————————————
- Martin turned on HCal racks
- Hanpu taking data today
- software workaround for ADC initialization not implemented yet (hot towers)
- in the meantime will try to reconfigure ADCs until no hot towers

Gain balancing demonstration—Hanpu
——————————————————————————
- should come after updated calibration from more cosmics data to be taken

Hello,

We’ll also resume our commissioning meeting, right after the calibrations meeting:

We should discuss any calorimeter related work in 1008 in the near future, specifically related to more cosmics data taking and gain balancing.  Please send me an email if you’d like to present something.

Best regards,
Stefan

Good afternoon folks,

We'll resume our regularly-scheduled Calorimeter Calibrations meetings this upcoming Monday, December 18th, at the usual time and place, 11:00AM EST, at the following zoom coordinates:

And the corresponding agenda can be found here:

We're currently expecting an update from Emma McLaughlin on HCal sampling fraction studies. Let Blair or myself know if you'd like to be added to the agenda!

Best,
-Anthony and Blair
