Good afternoon folks,

We'll have our next, regularly-scheduled Calorimeter Calibrations meeting this upcoming Monday, October 14th, at the usual time and place: 11AM at the following zoom coordinates:

https://bnl.zoomgov.com/j/1617635022?pwd=WmlVME9tcnlTYnlkUC9nU3crNTdRdz09

And the indico can be found here

The first thing on the agenda is an in-depth discussion of the calibration strategy for this year's p+p data and getting it ready on a timescale for Quark Matter analyses, as discussed in the general meeting. We'll really want to flesh out detailed questions and put names to tasks that are a little under powered at the moment.

Additionally, as has been discussed in the software meeting, and additionally mentioned in the Jet Structure group's update, there have been two software changes recently I've made to be aware of:

1. The tutorial code we've advertised has been overhauled to be a more efficient histogram maker, rather than an nTuple maker. This is designed to provide lightweight code to new folks to explore the data without being overbearing on our I/O. If you're running the previous CaloTreeGen code, especially over large amounts of data, I would encourage you to switch to using this new version and customizing it as you see fit.

2. In order to provide flexible nTuples that people can use to cross-check data as it rolls of the production, we're introducing basically what was the tutorial code into the production pipeline, so that we will have a small sample of the data (~O(1%)) in nTuple form at all times. This will most likely become more useful during the Au+Au running next year. These have the same form as the original tutorial code, modulo some fiducial cuts to reduce data volume. We'll let you know when these come online. But also note that these aren't analysis level. They're strictly for more in-depth QA.

See you on Monday!
