Thanks a lot. With Steve we made a common  “guesstimates” (using scope) for a 
single fiber of 1.5 mm, your pictures for two fibers point definitely 
somewhere between 0.75-1mm. Good and consistent. Would be great to do the 
same for air replaced by n=1.53  cooky.
