Dear all,
As per our discussion today, I looked at the difference between having the cryostat as is (the one we used in prototype2) and covering the full eta range.
I looked at 3 different pi- energies (4, 16, and 40 GeV) and found the difference from 20% at 4 GeV to >10% at 40 GeV from comparing energy deposited in the cryostat in both cases.
I attached the slides (see slide#3).
Thanks,
Murad

Dear sPHENIX HCAL Folks:
We're all set for the HCAL Workfest at Iowa State this weekend:
https://indico.bnl.gov/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2302
The meeting will be held in Room 18/19 of the Physics building on the ISU Campus. An interactive map can be found at:
http://www.fpm.iastate.edu/maps/
Parking is available on campus in any of the lots labeled with a yellow sign saying "General Staff Parking". I would recommend Lot 30 or 33, which is a short walk to the Physics building. While the meeting starts at 1PM on the 22nd, I will have Room 18/19 open and available starting at 10AM.
If anyone is arriving on Friday and would like to get together for dinner, just contact me and we'll put together a group.
Regards,
John
