Hello,
I have been going back and forth with Mandy and the other groups about when we could resume and complete the beam test at Fermilab. Taking account of availability, constraints, and personalities, it now looks like we will need to finish whatever we can in some fraction of the night shifts from about April 25-June 6. We don't need all of that period, or even most of it, I don't think, to complete the run plan:
- EMCAL on the 2c table
- 1 or 2 energy scans of the EMCAL 2-30 GeV
- several position scans of the EMCAL
- energy scan of combined EMCAL/HCAL running one with steel, one with aluminum
I think we need to settle on a plan next week so we can make arrangements to get this done. Obviously, it comes at a difficult time, with the CD-1 review preparations, the CD-1 review, Quark Matter, the end of the semester, and many other things, but I think we can finish off this program if we pull together.
I suggest whoever is available to discuss this meet on Monday morning at 11am:
https://indico.bnl.gov/event/4540/
and those who can't make it be in touch with me or Eric about what they can do to help. Not all help requires presence at Fermilab, since we have rather well-developed program, so I think there is the opportunity to help remotely, and we can talk about ways we might make that easier. People have really put themselves out for these beam tests in the past, and I hate to have to ask again, but I think we are really close to finishing these tests. Thanks, and talk to you Monday.
