Thanks for the update, Edward and John,

We'll be on the lookout for the data, and I think we would greatly appreciate emails like these being forwarded to the list, mainly so we can get an idea of some kind of feel for when we should look for more data during production.

Thanks,

-Anthony

Hi Edward,

    I would encourage you to forward this to the sphenix-hcal list directly.  This is the place where people involved in the HCAL looks for this kind of information.

    I'm very encouraged by the progress at Uniplast.  In particular when you forward this you might want to give a heads-up to Megan and Anthony that 140 tiles are ready for unwrapped measurements, so they should be prepared to start digesting these results from Uniplast.

Regards,
John

One question - should we distribute reports like this to collaboration or at least post them on bulletin board if sPhenix has one

Brief status report from Uniplast
11.30.2018
(1) 160 tiles with already embedded fibers are currently in a different stages of readiness for muon testing;
(2) 140 tiles out of 160 already went through fiber polishing stage and ready for “unwrapped” measurements;
(3) experience gained with mass embedding and polishing operations consistently shows a weekly production rate of ~110 tiles per weak (currently manual epoxy dispensing). This number corresponds to monthly production rate of 400-440 tiles as predicted during recent visit of JL & EK;
(4) completed construction and testing of three injection molds to produce matching optical block (stray light blocker), SiPM holder and fiber terminator. Test results are already distributed and discussed by sPHENIX;
(5) the following samples are ready for shipping to BNL
Light Bloker  - 10 штук
Sipm Holder - 20 штук
Connector    - 10 штук
Fiber Plug     -  3 штуки
Light DistributionCup - 3 штуки
Трубка         - 2 штуки

Shipping company representing FEDEX in Vladimir is expected to pick the box Monday (shipping is paid for from inbound FEDEX account at ISU).
