Hi Edward,

Terrific – it’s nice to see the loop closed on this. Can you give an update in Tuesday’s meeting?

John

You are correct. We learned how to control excessive light even in the hardest hit area near the exit. Tiles are as good as they need to be. Unless physics simulation will disagree - for all practical purposes we are done with IHCal tile design.

As alway - there are ways to make it even better and there are applications which may need better uniformity. But that shall be simulation-guided study. Our trial and error approach is just too slow  for fine tuning.

Hi Edward,

So, these are the results from the last prototype tile that we were waiting on.  Just paging through the file they look pretty good. There’s still some enhancement near the light blocker but it looks to be greatly reduced from the starting designs.

Am I missing any conclusions here?

John
